Hello Summit County!
How is your garden growing?
Summit Community Gardens is your garden, and it is growing! Thank you to everyone that gave their great ideas and support at the community input sessions. We'd love to implement every single one of your brilliant ideas this year, but realistically some may have to wait. Our hopes for future years include expansion of the garden, additional neighborhood gardens, additional programming and education. Right now, the design committee is working feverishly to plan a model garden on the Ike & Billie Koleman ten acre parcel. Next we'll turn to planning a few educational programs and social events. We'll keep you updated as the plans unfold. This project is made possible by a grant from The Park City Foundation and the support of many local businesses. The steering committee composed of members of the Leadership Park City Class XVI and the Uinta Headwaters RC&D Council is creating a strategic plan that incorporates your suggestions. Other interested parties are Summit County, Snyderville Basin Recreation, Park City Municipal, and various community members. Read more about public input here...
FREE SEEDS FROM MOUNTAIN VALLEY SEED!
Our friends at MVS have donated to Summit Community Gardens hundreds of packets of seeds for your plot garden. We now have seeds for carrots, beets, lettuce, green beans, kohlrabi, mustard, corn, radishes, squash, cauliflower, and many other vegetables. The packets will be distributed at the SCG May 24th meeting. Look for more future information. You can also keep up with our updates on Facebook....![]()
